Heather Jaber is an assistant professor in residence at Northwestern University in Qatar with a joint appointment across the Communication and Liberal Arts Programs. She received her PhD in communication from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MA in media studies from the American University of Beirut. Jaber’s research examines digital and popular culture, affect and emotion, and geopolitics. She examines the affects that sustain national imaginaries in the MENA by analyzing digital performances which unsettle or repair them.
